RIDVAN CELEBRATION

"Consider these nightingales. So great is their love for these roses, sleepless from dusk to dawn, they warble their melodies and commune with burning passion with the object of their adoration. How then can those who claim to be afire with the rose-like beauty of the Beloved choose to sleep?"

RIVER AT ASCOT 25x30cm SOLD

I often paint on the Swan river foreshore and this is a typical view of the shoreline in the area from Maylands to Guildford which alows the river and wildlife to breath. Unlike the shoreline downstream from Perth which has been blocked in with concrete and stone walls. I understand that these stone walls are now collapsing and will need resources to rebuild that are beyond the capability of local government. Lets hope the walls are removed and nature is left to take over.

Studio painting based based on memory and collected images. It is a beautiful place with an interesting history as a brewery and the resting place of the mystical Aboriginal Rainbow Serpent. I used to visit the site on business in the 1950s, when it was still operating as a brewery. It was always important to arrive at the worker's smoko time. Fresh green beer was freely available for all.

ABOUT BOB

Bob Abrahams became serious about art the 1970's when he completed an Arts Diploma at Perth TAFE. Since then, art has provided much inspiration in his life. He also has extensive experience in business management and strategic business planning and over the years, has assisted numerous small business enterprises. Currently, he works as an artist, and a lifestyle coach.

As an artist specialising in landscape paintings, he spends much of his time on location in and around the city of Perth, Kings Park and along the shores of Swan River. He has also made regular expeditions to the north west of the state and other regions in search of creative inspiration. Bob's landscape and still life paintings are traditional and impressionistic; he searches for the “light" using colour and tone to enhance the effects of light and shade.

Having successfully combined a business career with visual arts, Bob is a member of the Baha'i Faith and he believes that establishing a strong relationship with both the spiritual and the logical aspects of the mind are essential for creativity. Bob says that for him, “creative activities are akin to meditation. He endeavours to express universal values such as, unity, harmony, integrity and joy in his paintings.

Many paintings have been sold through individual exhibitions, local art galleries, WA Society of Arts, Riverside Painter’s annual exhibitions, community exhibitions, and successful exhibitions at Dalkeith Rotary Club, the Old George Gallery and Ellis House.
